Position Overview
As a Quality Manager, you will ensure to reduce the number of quality issues appearing in translations delivered to clients.

In this role, you will work closely with the Production team, including Project Managers and
Typesetting Specialists, to ensure that the final files have been translated accurately and meets customer delivery expectations. You must fully understand the requirements for the service and have a sense of responsibility towards our potential and existing customers as well as the competition. The goal is to preserve our reputation by ensuring that our translation service is accurate, high quality and exceeds the various industry standards for all the translation work that we offer.
Responsibilities
Pre-translation
- Pre-translation - review source content including for spelling, grammar issues, typographical errors, any missing content, hyperlinks, phone number, version control, differences between final PDF and translation file (eg. IDML)
- Identifying images and other items that contain text for translation and extracting the text
- Quality checking of bilingual templates against source files.
- Hiding text that won’t be translated in MS Word and Adobe InDesign
- Format Word and PPT files to facilitate later typesetting, and to ensure they meet accessibility standards
- Checking CAT tool upload for paragraph break, bullet list
Post-translation
- Proofread all translated documents against proofreading guidelines (for grammar, punctuation, and spelling errors, as well as ensuring all numbers, number of bullet points are there etc)
- Check for consistency in design, style, formatting, and layout across multilingual projects, including written documents, web and mobile app content, audio, and video projects
- Where required, format all translated documents to mirror the original source document
- Provide feedback to the Production team regarding quality issues
- Create and maintain style guides and linguistic assets, (translation glossaries and translation memories) for individual clients
- Support management with investigations regarding translation quality feedback from clients
- Prepare translations ready for use in HTML including testing of content for social media, in HTML and in WYSIWYG editors
- Track and report on quality metrics to management
Desired Skills & Qualifications
- At least 2 – 3 years’ experience in the same role
- Proven multi-tasking skills, ability to work under strict deadlines
- Fast learner and the ability to pick up new skills and technologies
- Common sense with exceptional problem-solving skills
- Good at interacting with people, ability to work within a team and by yourself
- Ability to work well with translators from different cultures and time zone
- Performs well under pressure with the ability to manage multiple projects and translators at the same time.
- Experience using Microsoft Office tools; experience CAT tools and Adobe suite is a plus
